I completely configured the server machine for all functions including routing, DNS resolution, Backups, and Restores. I also installed a number of needed third party software packages such as GCC, PERL, gzip, gunzip, top, and traceroute. As part of the Web Master duties I was responsible for the development and prototyping of the initial Web Interface for the Message Minder Service, a part of Call Answer Plus, for Internet Technical Trials. Having configured the system I also was responsible for testing the performance of the Sun Servers and the Netscape Enterprise 3.51d Web Server. I utilized several tools and techniques to present estimated loads and performance measures which might be expected in real life situations. I also installed and configured Verisign Security Certificates for Secure Commerce transactions on the Internet. I also completely documented the entire Message Minder Service including all technical, installation, management, and fault management and recovery procedures. I applied all known Server patches for Solaris 2.6 as well as all known patches for the Netscape Enterprise Web Server. I also engaged in fine tuning TCP/IP performance.
